Pumpkin & Winter Squash Cooking Class

Jubilee Farm | Carnation, WA

Come delight in the bounty of winter squash! In this class we’ll learn how to cut, cook, and prepare a variety of pumpkin and squash dishes. You’ll never have to fear the dreaded butternut or question how to tackle these autumn beasts again. Instead, come celebrate the abundance of fall as we pickle pumpkins, roast whole squash, make pumpkin pie filling from scratch, and feast upon winter squash chili. This class is 2.5 hours and includes refreshments and hearty snacks. Cost is $50 per person. To register, click here.

Mindfulness Retreat in Idyllwild, CA

Please join Jessica B Gillooly PhD, MFT on this weekend retreat designed to help you:

  • Overcome feelings of exhaustion by tapping into new energy sources within you
  • Replace fight/flight response with calmness and deliberate actions
  • Reduce anxiety by mastering your thoughts and worries
  • Enjoy a more healthful body by developing conscious eating habits
  • Use meditation to reduce irritability and defeat depression

The retreat includes both guided and silent meditation, walking meditation, and group discussion. Time is allotted for self-directed yoga sessions and ample free time will be provided each day for reflection and personal exploration. Heather Logan, a nutritional expert and cook in the Seattle area, will be on hand to discuss the mindfulness of food and to prepare all of our meals and healthful snacks.

Where is the retreat?

The small town of Idyllwild is less than three hours from Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego by car. It is 25 miles south of Banning via CA 243.

What is the cost?

The all-inclusive price for this weekend retreat ranges from $220-$280 per person based on room choice. A $100 deposit is required upon registration to ensure your place at the retreat.

What are the accommodations?

The retreat, gourmet vegetarian meals, and accommodations will be provided at a private lodge. 3 private rooms and a shared room for 6 are available based on a first come, first served basis. There are 3-shared bathrooms. Pine trees and mesquite bushes surround the lodge with Fern Creek flowing through the property.
